I was inspired by another part of the internet (that shall not be named) about a fun format that expands your skills and sharpens up some of your abilities.
The format is to pick a subject (Mies!), pick an object and then to model or draw that object.
I choose Mies for orthographic reasons (meaning no nurbs, no Zbrush... SketchUp users can play!).
So... pick a detail, a frame, a window.... whatever! Model it, draw it, paint it, render it and link a picture here.
Im guessing this is for all the peeps who dont have a job? lol j/k
If I fell into that category Id definitely be modeling some FLW ish....not because I think hes the ish, but b/c I think the details would looks pretty nifty as I have a book of his details. They are the ish.
It's Mies party and I can cry if I want to.

cool exercise.
For my first object, I will be modeling the Mies coffee table.
Less is more and therefore I will be drawing nothing. And not because I am lazy.
Still getting used to this whole rendering thing... Hope you like!
Architectural detail next.
NIce job.
Which rendering program?

Forgot to post it.
I like to think I got pretty close even though my render didn't pop like I wanted it too.
But then I would have had to model the whole building. No thanks!
not mies, but i did model scarpa a few months ago
Nice. The only reason for Mies was that everyone could do it from Sketchup to Max to Maya.
I'm guessing yours is in Max?
yep
I cannot for the life of me do anything in Max. I can't even draw a properly chamfered cube. Also, haven't been able to use the z-axis either.
I can murder the hell out of stuff in sketchup, though.
what is that castlevecchio?
