I'm a 1st year grad student looking to lock down a internship for the summer and hopefully get a full-time offer for next year after I graduate
Well, we have the career xpo coming up in a few weeks.
Im thinking of playing around with an idea like this....
I want to make a teaser portfolio to the dimensions of a standard envelope (or slightly smaller). I want it to be printed on some sort of cardstock, something that has a little bit of thickness and has a good feel to it. Was thinking of picking ~3 projects and have a cover page, something around 6 sheets total.
Since they are envelope dimensions, I can put this this teaser portfolio in an envelope along with my resume and cover letter. Print enough to hand out to 10 preselected firms of my choosing?
Lots of people show up with their full size portfolio and show it to the firms, but then all they leave with the firm is their resume. I feel like this could be a good idea, since I can hand out a pre-packed item to each firm and it wouldn't cost me too much money to produce. I can also bring my full size portfolio to show off in person if necessary.

Thoughts?
Ideas?
Thanks
wondering if it may be trying a little too hard to be different
would it not be easy for the firms to lose?
how much detail will you be able to fit on such a small format?
