Larchinect

rough draft for a junior/entry level LA/designer.. I've got more to add and a lot of work on the formatting and layout, but I dont want to spend a lot of time with this. I dont see it as a full portfolio..

LOOP!

Never saw you posted this. I can see why you're on the hand drawing kick now. Honestly, you've got an excellent hand. I'd like to see some of the really clean colored pencil drawings larger (the one at the bottom of the 3rd DNRGO page).

Maybe in terms of composition, you could reorder it a bit to show a progression from your concept sketches, to diagrams, to final renders. I have trouble knowing where my eyes are supposed to go one many of the pages.

What's going on with the Aeon project? I'm having trouble telling how the mound relates to the building you show on the first page of the project and to the "time wall" you show in the models and section. It seems like the building image is the most prominent part of the layout; I'd like to see the sketches and model become more prominent on that page.

Did you make any more revisions on this?

What kind of firm are you submitting this for? Corporate/Service type or design/boutique LA firm?

There are some projects I would not show to a design firm here...while they would help you with a more corporate firm.

Thanks for the comments.

This was an older post when I felt I may be in need of a new job. I'm still working on updating my cut sheets/portfolio, but I've since changed the format significantly.

Thanks for the compliments. I may very well post updates to these later this week or next so I look forward to your comments again then.

Like I said, I'm working now, but I'd like to get in with a firm doing some international or at least not all local projects, particularly in urban design and planning, but I'm also learning a lot about site design--corporate or boutiques doesn't really matter to me. Of course, I'd like to get some experience in a boutique firm, but I just want good project involvement, which I'm getting now, but the projects tend to be smaller and local to the area I'm in.

That AEON project is hard to expplain, but it's really one of the coolest projects I did in school in terms of the concept in my humble opinion, it's just hard to convey the big ideas non-verbally.

Thanks again.
