At what point is it suggested that a potential project be presented to management/company owner? how developed should the project be? how much detail should you have about logistics? Obviously, the better grasp you have on the facts the more they'll be willing to listen...but the less legwork for them, the more they'll be willing to absorb the project as their own and possibly decrease your referral fees?
It makes sense to have the owner on board as soon as possible to guide the process along and provide boundaries, but what is too soon? what is too late?
I don't see any harm in bringing it to their attention as soon as possible. From there either they can take over watching it, they'll ask you to stay involved, or they'll say they aren't interested.

Is this similar to your other post where you talk about the owner and developer?
