I love the method of the Caltrans signage above, but feel like a big opportunity was wasted. 100? was that REALLY all they had to say there? For me the best signage works with the material and form of the building in a way that cannot be duplicated on just any other building.
p.s.- if we're talking about building signage, we should give credit to the environmental/graphic designers who did the signage, not the architects
