London, Paris, Rotterdam... Please any advice for arch. office

I'm now workign in New York, but planning to find job in Europe. My primary interest is London, (it seems to be the easiest transition from NYC...) but I'm also open to other cities such as Paris or Rotterdam.
I know some offices in these cities, but not too many. Could someone give me advice about the good arch. designer offices? (I looked at the other discussion about London office.)

I'm trying to get good sense about the environment in these places. culture, people, living expense, visa difficulties, etc etc... It doesn't have to be limited to these 3 cities, I'm pretty open.

I'm also wondering specifically how "working permit" or "visa" related things are different among these countries.

It will be a great help if someone can give me any good info.
Thanks.

By the way, I'm not US citizen even though I'm working in NYC.
