I am working on an architecture competition. Having worked in architecture for several years I have managed to talk multiple architects I know in countries such as Spain and even some practicing in Dubai to join up in a team for this competition. Work from the previous years winners was done with Rhino or Maya drawings in there presentation board. That is our problem...I am just learning Maya and Rhino and we have a little more that a month to take our concept ideas and put them into the computer and make some really nice drawings.
I wanted to ask if you might be interested in helping out or if not then maybe you know someone who knows Rhino and or Maya very well that could help?
If you are interested in learning more thant plese email me at Rybruscoe@gmail.com and I can send you some photos and more information.
i may have missed something..... are you looking to hire someone short term or are you just hoping that, say, some who knows rhino/maya will drop everything they are doing, throw themselves into making your vision a computer generated reality, and be happy for the sheer experience of it all?
Well, this is for a competition so if we win then there will be a small cash prize. The main reward though is that whoever participates will be able to use the project in their portfolio. This might not be motivation for everyone but it could be a pretty good thing if we are one of the winners or even just a mention since it would be featured on the competition website and eventually possibly a book.
I'm sure many will help if there is a pot of gold to share at the end of the rainbow. What is the total cash prize package and what percentage will you share with the Rhino / Maya elf if you win? Lay it on the line bro.
The Rhino or Maya aspect of this project is actually going to be one of the most important parts of it. There is no way that if someone helps that they would not be just as big of a member of the team as everyone else.
So far there is 3 people including myself involved. There is a $2000 dollar prize for 1st place and $1000 for 2nd, and $500 for 3rd. I know this is not much but like I said if we even get a mention then the presentation boards will be on the website and that is a reward in itself if you are looking to build your portfolio. If someone helps with Rhino or Maya then we could split any prizes evenly.
Please take a look and if you are interested please let me know and I can send you drawings with our design. The design we have now is totally up for revision so if someone has ideas about how to make it better than we are all for that. Is there not anyone out there who is reading this and is good with Rhino or Maya....come on...I know there is someone out there!
We have been working back and forth on a design for the last couple of months and we are pretty close to getting a final concept design. Please email me at Rybruscoe@gmail.com and I will send you sketches and then you determine if you want to get involved or not. Look forward to talking with you!!!!
Thanks!!!
Just so you know, I have entered into a competition with evolo. Unless you are a freaking whizbang scriptamagician. They only choose those projects that look like a dogs penis that went through a blender. You might want to find someone who is proficient in scripting. It is also a majorly biased competition, and I am not sure how they REALLY pick the winners. I dont think it is based on actual good projects. I would be skeptical with them. There have been posts before claiming if evolo is legit. After entering and seeing the winners of past competitions (all Columbia grads), I would say no.
Thanks for the great feedback facader! On that note are there any whizbang scriptamagicians out there that want to help. I am trying to learn rhino scripting but the competition deadline is at the end of the month. Our team has a really good design and a lot of work done. We are just looking for any extra help. There is an architect from Barcelona and some American architects working on it...even if we don't finish for this eVolo competition then we are going to keep working on it and maybe enter this skyscraper design into another competition or just finish it anyways. As far as the competition being legit. If you read all of the other postings than you will actually see that there are some old postings questioning if it is legit or not but then there are later ones saying that it is! I don't think there is any question about it being a real competition or not! IT IS! Yes you are right they have had all Columbia people juries and picked people from Columbia or associated with it...so it that way it might be biased. It is an interesting "ideas" competition though. Anyways...if someone is interested in seeing the work we have done or maybe getting involved with out team then let me know.
those who know will just start off from CG... not so much about back and forth with hand sketch then use CG to represent ur it... that's kind of defeat the purpose of CG design.
