last semester of grad school

RAArch

with the fall semester not even a week over i can't help but think about the spring, thesis, and the inevitable job search to follow. throw that together with the anxiety the holiday season brings and its enough to make you throw up in your mouth. anyone with me?

to set my mind at ease a bit i want to concentrate on what is the furthest away, and what gives me the most anxiety, the job. im done by the end of may, i want to travel for a good month after im finished, then i plan on moving back to LA to start work by august. i have a lot of friends in b-school who keep asking me if i have a job yet, because apparently in business school that's what you do in the fall, so in the spring you can do nothing. i keep telling myself that there is no way architecture firms are hiring now if im available in august. but it has gotten me thinking, when should i begin the resume/portfolio bombardment?
im sure im not the first to finish school in may, travel, and then start work by aug, when/how did everyone start the search? did you start early with an email or call then follow up with a resume? did you just try to get interviews as soon as you could so you could meet people?

any tips or anecdotes are appreciated...anything to help with the acid reflux.

happy hoildays!
