dre molded the gangsta' era and also produced for egytian lover
i would like to mention j-dilla (r.i.p.) for the fact that he was one of the best hiph hop producer out there...peep his discograph and bio...worked with de la/tribe/common/etc...... also was a main part of UHMAH that produced tribe in the early days...
pete if you want some since quality beats
dre if you want to bump in your ride and hit the 3 wheel
i hope this thread can spread into more hip hop/rap "whose better" . I wana bring up 2 rappers, but i am really curios too what other people think of dre.
yeah..sucks they kicked out my man BAATIN .... ( he been going through some tough times since then...trying to help him out...peep my clothing...got him in there)...
the native tongues crew....what cha' know about that
that royce/premier track is dope. actually trying to get royce on my detroit mixtape ...but thats another story........ i got about 7 tracks from detroit family so far.....getting there
jungle bros - yeah!, and digital underground!, and dr. octagon, and krs one, and big daddy kane, and ghostface killah, and emanon (not eminem), and mr. lif, and hollertronix, and dj assault, and the game, and the federation...
we bubblin' bubblin' bubblin' bubblin' bubblin'...til they boil!
i'm listening to the chronic right now.....DAMN!!
love the basslines especially on the day the niggaz took over and then going right into nuthin but a 'g' thang. sickness! love the distorted basslines mixed for those with crappy speakers in their cars...
this album was definitely made for the lowrider
dr. dre's pre-gangster days with the world class wreckin cru
my cousin had a 92 ranger mini-truck lowrider with the bed full of amps and speakers...haha...used to cruise that in 92/93 with the bass shaking your eyeballs.....hahaha
spice 1 bumps also...hahaha
then theres techmaster PEB
dj magic mike
dj laz
tag team
hahaha.....
gonna start diggin again..... pop in the tape and hit play
cause i know j-dilla was part of uhmah that helped with tribe....not sure how much though....maybe dilla did beats and ali produced it...dont know for sure....
talib has been out for a minute though...back with blackstar (talib/mos def).....
lupe push/skate track is dope.... i still havent copped his cd though.....
talib vocals can sound the same after a while...... not sure if it's his tone or what.... maybe needs a liitle excitement in the vocals to diverse the tine a bit....
i think lupe is on pharrell label..... cool to see some skateboard heads in the game though........
have you listened to any other of lupe's tracks? I really suggest "dumb it down" youll get blown away by the lyrics. But so far, my all time favorite song by lupe is "hurts me soul" My only fear is that Lupe may turn commercial, I really hope he doesn't, but its inevitable.

I love Pete Rock + CL Smooth - They Reminisce Over You, but Dre has produced a lot more bob-yer-head music.
I would lump Pete in with Chubb Rock and Paperboy.
Oh yea, if you wanna see the strangest hip-hop video ever, check out Paperboy - The Ditty on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNJpOnArICI
watch these 2 videos if you are pissed off in the office...... some old detroit acid rap stuff....... crazy.....
b
Dre is better but Pete Rock is a classic!! Nuff said
marimba...do the dit-tay, do the dit-taaayyy!
they reminisce over you (troy) has got to be pete rock's fallingwater.
how about pete rock vs. ali shaheed muhammad?
wasnt ali part of uhmah (did tribes stuff?)
b
ali shaheed muhammad did tribe's instinctive paths, low end theory (best album), midnight marauders, etc.
i'm gonna bump some low end theory right now...
cause i know j-dilla was part of uhmah that helped with tribe....not sure how much though....maybe dilla did beats and ali produced it...dont know for sure....
b
Pete Rock has the best station on Pandora, period.
oh snap
Dre's aint bad either though.
how about, lupe faisco vs. talib kwali?
lupe is a good new cat....
talib has been out for a minute though...back with blackstar (talib/mos def).....
