hi I am doing a project in Singapore, I saw those purples flowers everywhere, on pedestrian bridge, highway to airport... anyone knows that type of plant? Or any other > plants that is healthy and grows easily? I think it may be a Singapore Orchid... quick google search found me that...on a florist site
Jacaranda? post a picture please. lots of plants grow easily in a subtropical environment...
It is the Vanda Miss Joaquim species of orchid which is Singapore's national flower.
@ Gotan - i've got the answer for you. Bougainvilleas! I don't think they plant orchids on pedestrian bridge. They do have a lot of orchids in the country but those are denbrobiums (an orchid species) which bloom freely in a tropical country.
Bougainvilleas are the bane of my existence. Pruning them is so laborious. And the thorns?!? OMIGOD, THE THORNS.
