the funny thing is that we (tumbles, dubK, my sister, her girlfriend and I) were on the roof downtown waiting to see all the lights get turned off for the 'turn the lights off' thing...of course there werent any lights being turned off...not even the fucking DWP building turned their lights off for an hour

are there LED bulbs that screw into a good old-fashioned incandescent?

because i do worry about mercury in my cfl's - i dispose of them properly (smash 'em up then bury in my backyard) but i doubt most people do

FRAC - they do make ultra low Hg CFL's - Philips is one manufacturer. And of course you can always recycle them and leave the backyard for burying pets.

It won't be long before dead pets are considered toxic waste and you'll get slapped with huge fines for burying them in your yard.

i bought some cfl's recently and didn't realize the color temp was 6500k - they're blue! (why do they even make those?)
