is it just me, or is football exciting to watch when the cowboys are winning.. my hats off to the boys this year.. looks like their going all the way...
oh lord, the last 1-1/2 games have been beautiful. i feel the team of the 2010s coming on...tony romo is incredible to watch. and the best thing about him is, he's not perfect -- but when he's down, man, he just gets right back up. seeing how he turned that fumbled snap -- into a fumble -- into a recovery -- into a complete pass...man, even my wife was excited...or maybe it was my super-bowl-worthy extra-special seven-layer dip.
i'm the worst giants fan in the world. i actually don't give a rats ass about football, but i gotta' keep up appearances or my friends start looking at me funny. and any excuse to use the term BIG BLUE is fine by me.
either way...if dallas thinks they're going all the way, they'll likely meet big blue again...and if i remember correctly, big blue wasn't actually in the house that day in week 1 quite like they were this past sunday.
helps to know you don't have to worry about a player like...
ohhhh WESTBROOK...means you can basically tee off on
the qb. apparently the eagles had a few other players out
as well.
as far as the jets...is it me or are they worse than last
year? i mean losing to buffalo?
you have your matchup this week though ml...jets vs giants.
i remember watching tony eason, steve grogan, hannah,
tippet, stanley morgan etc. watched refrigerator perry run
over the pats in 86 and favre beat them in 96. i was in
boston when they beat the rams...even went downtown
to watch the celebration. nothing like watching a team
that's disappointed you for years finally win the big one.
now i live in nyc and get to watch jets/giants fans wonder
when either of those teams will be good again.
isn't liking the jets/giants kind of like liking both the mets/yankees?
kind of...but in general i root for all the new york teams...except the islanders. i hate them for a variety of irrational reasons.
i'm more interested in divisional and conference rivals than i am in cross-town bragging rights.
that being said, my older brother was the real giants fan in my family. i am, again, more by proxy than anything else. i really do not like eli though. he's a ******* crybaby if you ask me. maybe he'll toughen up as he gets older, but i still think it was a dick move what he did with san diego and i have yet to find another compelling reason to give two shits about him.
Word around the campfire is that the Cowboys and Romo are nearing an extention in the range of 30 million in guarantees. The are negotiating the structure of the deal.
Knicks? Knicks? Isaiah Thomas should burn in hell for ruining my team. i'd take twenty years of no playoffs if we can get rid of that a-hole misogynist.
it's amazing to me that isaiah hasn't been fired yet...
it's almost as if he's sitting around wondering..hmmm...i
wonder if they'd fire me if i did 'this'?
Maybe JJ wanted to see if he could pull himself out of the pit he was eagerly digging, before finishing that shiny new contract. Might have had to shave some millions off the top.
you know i was just lookin at the new indianapolis monthly mag and they have an issue on salaries. payton manning makes 10 mil a year and could perhaps by the end of his career be considered the best to play the game. his salary is 8 million LESS than jermaine o'neil who plays for the pacers. wtf? is up with that...jermaine's carreer stats? 14.4 points per game and 7.8 rebounds. wtf????
its cause of the nba's soft salary cap... in the NFL the salary cap cant be exceeded... in the NBA it CAN be exceeded to extend contracts of players you already have the rights to... (i think thats how it works)... anyway... that allows you to hold on to players like jermaine oneal more readily than other teams can sign them away.
ryan leaf had a game where he was 1-15 for 4 yards and two picks and three fumbles lost against the Chiefs.
Lost in all the 6 turnover hub bub...the dallas defense allowed 3 points and 230 yards of total offense, and Buffalo converting on only 3-13 3rd downs.
Cowboys played 2.5 good quarters and stayed closer than the score indicated, but 4 good ones would have been better. And the Pats are going 16-0. Indy will be a speed bump.
the pats dominated the first quarter...and the fourth.
bottom line...the holding call on fourth down and one killed
the game essentially for the cowboys...especially since
stallworth scored two plays later. they convert on that play
and it's a different game.
the next time the 'boys see the pats would have to be the
superbowl...and by then seymour and maroney should be
back...that's the crazy thing...they lost to the pats who
were missing three of their best players...since watson and
morris also were out.
i don't know about the 16-0 talk or 19-0..there always seems
to be that one game...and indy at home is tough. the division
is set up for the pats to sweep though.
the truly crazy thing is that the pats could clinch at least a
tie for the division in three weeks if they win three more
games and the jets, bills and dolphins lose three.
how bout them cowboys....
4-0.. wow..
is it just me, or is football exciting to watch when the cowboys are winning.. my hats off to the boys this year.. looks like their going all the way...
the bears officially suck! griese was worse than rex and if it wasnt for hester they would have lost by 20 points!
yea cowboys !!
ride em cowboy!
...uhm it's just you. the cowboys blow monster donkey cock.
the nfc blowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwws. go colts!!!
lookin forward to the colts vs pats again this year.
bears and cowboys
How about those Packer, youngest team in NFL 4-0.
oh lord, the last 1-1/2 games have been beautiful. i feel the team of the 2010s coming on...tony romo is incredible to watch. and the best thing about him is, he's not perfect -- but when he's down, man, he just gets right back up. seeing how he turned that fumbled snap -- into a fumble -- into a recovery -- into a complete pass...man, even my wife was excited...or maybe it was my super-bowl-worthy extra-special seven-layer dip.
i think it was the dip.
My friends have piled on for the last 8 years about my Cowboys...The best part is...Ellis, Newman and Glenn aren't even 100%.
Big D is back baby.
wait till they meet Big Blue. 12 sacks yesterday? McNabb was on his back like one of Vick's dogs.
OUCH!
Uh, I believe they've already beat Big Blue in week 1.
The Boys are definitely back!
that's a giants fan for you...
now i know they haven't played the pats yet and i'm
looking forward to that matchup.
i'm the worst giants fan in the world. i actually don't give a rats ass about football, but i gotta' keep up appearances or my friends start looking at me funny. and any excuse to use the term BIG BLUE is fine by me.

GO JETS!!!
of course the eagles were a bit undermanned...
helps to know you don't have to worry about a player like...
ohhhh WESTBROOK...means you can basically tee off on
the qb. apparently the eagles had a few other players out
as well.
as far as the jets...is it me or are they worse than last

you have your matchup this week though ml...jets vs giants.
...what's the over/under on The White House re-opening in Big-D?
yeah lars i know...either way I WIN!!!!
(and lose.)
isn't liking the jets/giants kind of like liking both the mets/yankees?
jets fans = blue collar
giants fans = country club/hunt club set and wanna be's
as an east coaster i am the latter, a wannabe...but my team is the Steelers so go figrr...
i'm a pats fan...but i grew up in boston.
i remember watching tony eason, steve grogan, hannah,
tippet, stanley morgan etc. watched refrigerator perry run

and ny's penance for having the yankees is that we also have the jets and the knicks. kind of balances out the greatness with the suckyness.
2 THOUSAND...CLAP, CLAP, CLAPCLAPCLAP
(this is for the years and years of that inane 1918 chant...and
i've never been a participant of the 'yankees suck' chant)
Word around the campfire is that the Cowboys and Romo are nearing an extention in the range of 30 million in guarantees. The are negotiating the structure of the deal.
really? tony romo. who knew? where did he come from again?
Eastern Michigan.
Knicks? Knicks? Isaiah Thomas should burn in hell for ruining my team. i'd take twenty years of no playoffs if we can get rid of that a-hole misogynist.
I think that should go in a "How bout them Knicks?!" thread
lars - i was always partial to the nine-teen-eighty-six, clap clap, clapclapclap.
but we could go back and forth all day with no end in sight...let's see where things stand in a couple of days.
ml.
right there with you...looking forward to the next couple of days.
and beta...
it's amazing to me that isaiah hasn't been fired yet...
it's almost as if he's sitting around wondering..hmmm...i

yeah i knew the reason but am baffled about the huge differences. it was mj i can understand, but its ricockulous.
Thus all the giant, petulant, two-year olds playing in the NBA.
ryan leaf had a game where he was 1-15 for 4 yards and two picks and three fumbles lost against the Chiefs.
Lost in all the 6 turnover hub bub...the dallas defense allowed 3 points and 230 yards of total offense, and Buffalo converting on only 3-13 3rd downs.
can't blame em. stay in college and get make millions for your coach and a.d. or go to nba sit on bench make millions. tough choice there.
How do you like them apples??
cowboys suck, go pats!
Cowboys played 2.5 good quarters and stayed closer than the score indicated, but 4 good ones would have been better. And the Pats are going 16-0. Indy will be a speed bump.

of course with puddles on board now the pats will
definitely lose at least one game.
