Best reason for grad school (as opposed to fulltime job): shorts and other comfortable clothes... at least if you're in So Cal, or other mild climates.

i wore shorts for the 2005 World Series in which the White Sox won. (The only game they lost is when I wore pants)

i was wearing shorts last night for Buerhle's no-hitter.

(I was also wearing the same t-shirt i wore for all the 2005 playoff games last night too. (except for the one loss))

i will side with shorts

did i mention it was freezing yesterday and october 2005?

thank you so much everyone. I've been debating on whether or not I should be wearing shorts or pants, it's been keeping me up at night lately. I've always had issues wearing shorts though in a big city. To me the only people that wear shorts are tourists. Is this perhaps a rural/suburban thing to wear shorts?

Also, should I be worried with preconceived notions of leg coverings? From what I understand, it is customary in the Western world for men to wear trousers and not skirts or dresses. However, there are exceptions, such as the Scottish kilt and the Greek foustanella, worn on ceremonial occasions, as well as robes or robe-like clothing such as the cassocks, etc. of clergy and academic robes (both rarely worn in daily use today).

Based on Deuteronomy 22:5 in the Bible, some groups believe that women should not wear trousers, but only skirts and dresses.

Among certain groups, low-rise, baggy trousers exposing underwear are in fashion, e.g. among skaters. Then there are cut-offs, which are homemade shorts made by cutting the legs off trousers, usually after holes have been worn in fabric around the knees. This extends the useful life of the trousers. The remaining leg fabric may be hemmed or left to fray after being cut.

Removing ones' trousers in public is, in the main, considered taboo?

I can't get my head around this topic! Which should I chose?

It should be noted that the most comfortable list was generated by surveying CEOs from around the country of their opinion. There is a portion that breaks it down to the top 5 of each region in the country, but you have to pay the $30 to get the whole edition if you want a pdf or $40 if you wanted a printed version.

i dig the shants actually. i enjoy the feeling of air circulation around my calves and the free sensation of not having pants covering my shoes/ankles, but i find shorts too often not the appropriate choice for me.

shorts + pants = shants.

but i'm often seen with regular jeans cuffed up like, three rolls to avoid the chainline on the bike, then i leave 'em like that.

im going with pants on this one..

but i like mightylittle am a roller...

its the beauty of pants, if you get hot, you can roll them up, once youve cooled off, uncuff the jeans and your back in cool business...

also i like to pretend that a puritan woman might see my ankles glistening in the sun and be overcome with lust... she would of course be a specatularly beautiful puritan women... natalie portman like

what about normal long pants that have cut into shants? not exactly capri, because they have the fringy edges associated with cutoffs.

kind of like long shorts, or lorts.

What are you an eight-year old? You gonna wear your Jamz to school today? Shorts are outlawed for anyone above third grade.

As turtle once proclaimed this forgotten gem, "I can tell you're lame by the way you wear your shorts!"

Just sidestep the issue altogether by not wearing them, that way no one will know how lame you really are. Which is probably pretty lame if you didn't already know about the no shorts deal.
