hey guys, longtime reader, first-time poster.

i applied to UW, WashU, Columbia, UMich, Yale MArch 3 and have been accepted to UMich (website, yesterday) and WashU (snail mail...priority large package, today) !!

btw congrats rip! are you going to the open house? did you roommate mention anything about the school flying you out/putting you up for the night?

My roommate isn't huge on reading, he prefers pictures..so unless the offer to fly me out and put me up was made graphically, the message wouldn't have gotten through.

I'll definitely go if they did offer that though. I guess I'll find out when I get home.

do schools usually fly people out and put them up once they get accepted? I've never heard of this.

I'm flying out to Michigan on the 27th. they'll pay 300.00 for travel.

i don't get home until 8:45 tonight...i'm not going to be able to wait.

When I got accepted to Chicago they offered to put me up at a hotel and provide food and transportation for the whole weekend... I would have to play for the flight though.

i'm not sure if schools do this normally, as i'd never heard of it either. i'm also still waiting on my snail mail package from michigan.

i'm reading it now:

they pay for travel (for me that's a flight from boston), hotel accomodations, and all meals. we have to pay the $275 registration fee

I'm so tempted to call my schools and just ask admissions if they could just tell me anything at all. This probably would be of no help and it would probably just annoy them. So I won't. Has this worked for anyone?

I broke down and called the GSD today just to see if they knew when letters were going out - not even asking for a yay/nay.

All I got was a snippy "they'll go out by the end of March."

Nothing interesting

I made a call to admissions on Monday, but tried not to ask too many questions. Here's what I got:
Pratt- mailing out in the next 2 weeks
Parsons- sending out this week
Upenn and Yale- being sent out towards the end of the month.

This doesn't mean I haven't be re-freshing my email every 3 minutes, but I guess it's something!

brooklyn, exactly what did you get from Parsons? They are sending physical letters, emails or will give a phone call?

eh, just havent been too interested lately. also, im selfish. so if the info doesnt concern me, then im not too interested, haha. also, sort of slighted I havent got a phone call from uva.

Parsons didn't say exactly how they were going to contact us, but from things i've read on this thread and on thegradcafe.com it looks like people are starting to get phone calls. They definitely said "sending out decision notification" but they didn't say if it was email or snail mail.

I'm tempted to just got to all the schools and refuse to leave until they tell me if I got in. Probably not the best idea...
