columbia vs getting drunk

erasmus

i spent new years at home by myself working. wtf is my problem, i am supposed to be on break! someone tell me grad school has made their social life suck more than mine... or at least use this to build your own self confidence.

New Year's is a paper holiday anyway. There's entirely too much social pressure placed upon it. I suspect working on New Year's eve was a much more productive way to spend the evening if you would otherwise be miserable by surrounding yourself with crazy drunks.

Although there is something to be said for leaving your apartment in a black dress and returning the next morning in a pair of red hot pants and a gold top hat, with no recollection of how you got that way.

:o)

I've long been a proponent of saying "F it" to most organized "vacations." For example, I hate the people that bother you for working on say, a Friday night. Sooo what if I'm working so I can take Monday night off instead? Etc. I worked on my portfolio while watching movies with my parents last night. Lame, but I'm in the middle of nowhere right now with no car, friends scattered around the globe for break. But come April...I'm done with my portfolio so I can hang out then. Don't worry about it. You're an adult. Screw those who complain about doing "inappropriate thing" at "inappropriate times." I see New Years as...Sunday haha.

i was wondering how long it would take for a yale blows comment (i thought that might have blown over by now)... now i just have to wait for parallel's post.

drizzler, if i get to the d before you head back to ucla and i take off for yale i will have to look you up. then we will figure out who the "dork" is.

New Year's is garbage, I nearly always stay home by choice. On New Year's, everything is twice as crowded, three times more expensive and totally out of control. New Year's is the holiday where people who never party ('The Rookies') come out drinking for the night, which means there are way too many fights, people puking on your shoes on the subway, hollering and making a mess of everything. I'd rather just ignore New Year's, I get out enough the rest of the year.
