The louvre was a custom job. However, and I hate to admit this, I use Sweets for product research often. There are several companies that fabricate these kind of ADA lifts you seem to be describing such as savaria, kone, otis, schindler etc. All these companies should have some built in customization with their products so arch's can meet their aesthetic needs.
The Louvres hydraulic elevator
Do anyone know a hydraulic elevator product that is similar to the elevator found a the Louvres? Tried at Otis didn't find any.
Basically a platform with railings that lift up or down...
I would like to use that just for one floor.

Wow... I've seen photos of the Louvre before, but I had no idea about that elevator.
Am I correct in assuming that every code official in the US would have a heart attack if some architect proposed such a thing here?
