I used elite reprographics for my grad application portfolios a few months ago. They were really patient, professional, fast, and put up with how neurotic i was about colors, deadlines, etc.
They mostly do high-profile, high pay gigs, but they treated me with the same respect that they would a client paying $$$.
oh, and ask for simon. he gave me a "student" discount...

Any suggestions on where to print my portfolio in SF?
