Near the Univ of Minnesota there is the Town Hall Brewery that happens to have some excellent house brews and hardly a trickle of undergrad traffic. Probably because Miller Lite isn't on the menu. Since it's just down the street from the office many times I've wasted away the post-work hours there.
I'm going to second the Town Hall. Nothing beats micro-brews and a happy hour that runs 9-12 at night, It used to be $2.50 pints.. but that was 2 or 3 years ago.
there seems to always be a smattering of IIT archi kids (grads and advanced Ugrads) at Skylarks on 20th and halsted, its a cool place which postal and i frequent
When I was in undergrad, we used to eat lunch at the hospital cafeteria across the street. It was always comforting to know that the hospital was so close, too, for emergencies.
we used to have this nice outdoor canteen in school... lots of trees etc.. ( my school was in the middle of a forest.. and not a single tree was pulled down during the construction ... very nice)
Architect hang-outs...
What are some cool bars/hang-outs at your school?
The Max...duh
