Hi friends!
I want to ask some questions!
there is some diffrences between "space of the public "and" public space".
do you know some examples of the" space of the public".?can you show me them?
how can it be?does it situate in a "public place"or it `s not important.
Do you think that museums are "spaces of the public"?how about the centers of cities?
I have so many quastions...
show me something about these if you can.
thanks
yes I see that book "Non places". I just read some pages.thanks.
cassiel, you think what are those diffrences?!
I think some things are missed...It `s my proposal.
do you think is there any space that couse people of a metropolice gather. and like to gather with each other. people from any level of society.do you think that "control" effect on this space. I mean if we reduce the "control"< we can have this place?!
I know "control" always exist. Now it `s just replaced with another form.
do you think in a metropolis we can have this place just in one place or it `s better that we distribute it ? it `s like a paradox.maybe we can have a code for these spaces and then distribute them...
my guess would be that "spaces of the public" would be those that function as public spaces but are not truly public (i.e. parking lots, shopping malls, coffee shops, etc.)
public spaces are truly public spaces (i.e. civic plazas, parks, streets, etc.)
the two of these together form the public realm...

Hm, well, maybe you should define what you consider those differences to be?
Have you read Marc Auge's book "Non Places"? If not, it may help.
