This is getting rediculous.... I have recently considered moving to Kentucky from NYC until grad school starts in the fall. I don't know if these southern thoughts are a result of the ambiguity of not knowing where I have or haven't been accepted, and my mind is aching for some sort of decision. Perhaps so, perhaps not. Either way I would be sleeping more soundly, and could go through my day w/o constantly checking this thread, if I only knew what these schools thought of my stuff. Arrrgghhh.
Wow, weird. I definitely did crits with some of you at Disco. Small world, kind of reaffirms my suspicion that the M.Arch applicant pool in any given year is pretty small (especially compared to, say, law or med). Also it seems that Archinect is the only oft-frequented site of its kind.
It'd be nice to hear positively from the GSD, but I'm already in what I've tentatively labeled my first choice. Congrats to everyone who got into places!
Ok... Univ. British Columbia for a 3.5 year Masters of Landscape Architecture including a $5,000 scholarship......or Architectural Association for a 1 year Master of Arts in Landscape Urbanism.
I hope to get a PhD afterwards. The way I figure it they come about costing somewhere in the same neighborhood.
Anyone have an opinion on which to go with? These are my top two schools; I got into both.
If anyone's waiting on UT Austin I would suggest going to the status check of your application. I haven't received anything from them, but tonight, on a whim, I went to the application status page and in little blue letters it said "We are pleased to inform you...."
A rejection and an acceptance in the same day. Not bad. Though I think I knew I'd be going to a University of [insert state name here]. Maybe I should start referring to Berkeley as University of California.
amanning - I received the same thick financial aid package from SCI-Arc a couple weeks ago and haven't heard anything back yet, so I have a feeling that they send that out to everyone that either applied or completed their FAFSA.
Congrats to q+ and others admitted to the GSD, especially with AP!
accepted to grad schools yet?

mn -- CU sent a deceptively thin envelope.

Decisions Decisions,

This just in...official Yale rejections have now made it to Japan.
i also did disco this past summer
does the evaluation from disco matter in gsd admission?
isn't there a checkbox on the gsd app where you tick off whether you've attended disco (and which year)? I remember there was...
i am literally losing sleep over this. i had a dream i was waitlisted at multiple schools but somehow i didn't know which ones. it was awful.
please make the month of march fast-forward. this waiting is hellish.
agreed.
I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.
I vow to not check this thread again until I hear back from another school.
Columbia, you are making this very hard.
are you all M-Arch 1 applicants? with a background in architecture?

i was curious about that, my little blue letters are mocking me right now.
maaaaan i just checked UT's application page and they're still "reviewing [my] materials."
guiggster did you receive an acceptance from berkeley already?
guigg... most people in california call Berkeley "Cal" anyway. It was the first Univ. of California. So, you have a strong chance! :D

THE IDES OF MARCH ARE UPON US!

amanning - I received the same thick financial aid package from SCI-Arc a couple weeks ago and haven't heard anything back yet, so I have a feeling that they send that out to everyone that either applied or completed their FAFSA.

I applied to SCIarc last year and got the financial package, but didn't get admitted. I don't think it means anything, it's just a teaser.
can i please put out a public request to the world that nobody call me with a number that i do not recognize???
because it keeps happening. and it keeps not being toshiko.
dmc- i second you (and madonna) in your message to the woman.
baby bear, give it a rest. let these kids duke it out for the affections of toshiko, mr. wigley, et al.
[wait] they don't love you like i love you...
did anyone else who applied to arizona state get an email from the master of urban and environmental planning program? it says:
"we hope you will consider the profession of planning as an exciting and socially relevant graduate studies option"
it doesn't say anything about the m.arch program, but this can't be a good sign...i think i'm going to sleep until april.
you need not crap your pants until you see 617-xxx-xxxx come up. Unless she's sporting a cell phone, that's Cambridge MA.
