I was laughing at the walking building, but yes Piano's building is a great example. But this works best on a continuous hill. How would this type of building bend with the level ground below it?

genuwine....i like this ancient buddhist monastery in bhutan...it is perched as well as 'steps down'..i think its spectacular

ando did three buildings in rokko, an upscale-ish part of kobe. the 1st is pretty good, the 2nd is brilliant and the 3rd i haven't visited but it looks not quite so nice in photos, but probably made more money for the developer...

thanks for all the suggestions. the ando ones in kobe are great, i used to live down the hill from them. the 3rd one is a sell out. As for the name change, it was always genuwine, but for some reason, yesterday it came up as a different name. anyway...
