Does anyone know what a starting architect (fresh out of undergraduate school, w/ a degree in architecture) could make in the Bay Area? And what would be their responsiblities?

anyway, afriend of mine, with a b.arch, got a job in san fran in august. he's pulling in 36k and apparently has some responsibility.
