What is the Best Design Ever?

firuz

Lately, I feel like I need some design inspiration to motivate me. Its amazing how productive you can be when you see other people's designs and concepts--it gives you ideas and stimulates the conceptual side of your brain. So, I propose this question to the masses:

What do you believe to be the best architecture design ever and why?

It can be a building, project, concept, ancient, contemporary, built or unbuilt...whatever, as long as it motivates you (- or +).

Let the inspiration begin...

More like let the flamewar begin.......

That's a really tough question, I don't know if this is the best design ever, but it's in my top ten.

Among other things, because it made a lot of 20th century architectural theorists and architects write and say completely wrong things about it.

La Tourette, aeshtetically it wasn't too exciting for me, but after staying there for a week everything soaks in, the layout and order of spaces is incredible. That or the courtyard outside/below the church in Assisi

Hey architecturegeek ,
The more I look at FLIP, the more I see a fat-guy in a wet suit standing in the water, holding a rifle. FLIP is really growing on me.

They let you tour one of the cube houses. I had to get out of there after five minutes because I thought I was going to hurl.

I could see that happening. Man (as I'm chuckling), that must've been one real frustrated designer. I can see it now: Many late nights w/out sleep, lotsa java, the client is breathing down your neck, you fall backwards in your Aeron chair; AW, FAAAAKK IT, ALLLLLLLLLLL, I'M putting ROLLING CUBES on sTILTS, DAMMITTTT!!!! AGGGGGHHHH!!!!!
