how much bandwidth is sufficient for sites of this type? MediaTemple is nice, but i get the feeling that i probably can get by with less bandwidth and, therefore, lower monthly charges.
media temple is great, I have 3 website hosted through them, I think they prodive 2GB for their shared server, definately geared toward higher traffic sites, for a personal/portfolio site you can get away around 5,000 MB, there are alot of hosting services that provide low cost hosting, try Only 2 Dollars
