A New Career in Development

igloominaire

Architect who is tired of interpreting and executing someone else's impenetrable (non)philosophy in a so-called but disappointingly irrational “design” environment, seeks a new career in development making zillions of dollars without having to deal with precious pretensions of "good" design, so he can go home to a house he can actually afford, maybe even designed and built by himself, and do his own pretentious precious design work for himself in his off-hours. Any suggestions as how he might make this happen?

(OK, so basically I'm looking for names and insights on successful development firms who have a place for intelligent people with architectural, problem-solving and project management backgrounds. Any additional experience-related input by others who have made this career switch would be useful. All suggestions welcome.)
