Do you know any good design resources for apartment buildings (books, on-line, whatev.)? I am looking for some guidance as far as what kind of amenities are typical these days and the general design guidelines that are being used.
Otherwise, many new books exist on recent and current multi-family housing design. Try a good architecture library, or, better, an expensive architecture bookstore, where they'll all be ganged together.
As far as seeing what amenities are typical, look at apartments yourself, as if you were looking to rent. See what you like about them, what you don't like about them, what the average place has, and if there's a lot of standard deviation, whether it can be explained by the ages of the places you're looking at. Many rental sites show floor plans online, and they all list what amenities they offer.
