I'm leaving my current job today. What's the easiest way to send myself all of my favorites.....without having to open every site, and paste each address into the message?
if you are on a mac osx and using ie, the file is in library/preferences/explorer and it is called favorites.html. if on a pc, i'm sure it's probably called the same thing. just do a search for favorites.html.
Just copy the favorites folder in C:/Documents and Settings/USER NAME/Favorites. It has a big Star as an icon. Then just add the folder's contents to your new computer. Easy.
If you're actually sending them to yourself via email, you can zip up that favorites folder into one file (using Winzip, or a similar program), so as to make it just one attachment.
Although, I guess this is actually too late to be of any help... unless you're working overtime, or are on the west coast...
i have practically abandoned bookmarks altogether and just use a combo of http://del.icio.us/ and bloglines. i keep a few design sites bookmarked in my computer because they dont have an rss feed yet. if you have firefox, you might want to try this extension.
