Going to try David Chipperfield. He’s been second on my probability list for a couple years…

I’m removing David Adjaye from that list entirely for recent developments… he had previously been my top pick…

My backup guesses if I'm allowed are Jeanne Gang and Kengo Kuma.

Wow. I mean... Shows how much I care. I honestly thought Kere was last year haha. Guess that defaults me to Jeanne Gang

With last years award to David Chipperfield the jury seems interested in honoring those that have been previously overlooked. I think this could bring us to Peter Eisenman, Steven Holl, and the like...

Too much baggage for Holl and Eisenman is a relic of the last century. I suspect Jeanne Gang.

Good lord, no thanks. Maybe in 1992. The rest of us have moved on.

Holl will never win a Pritzker. That's literally the only thing I ever say in these threads every year.

Every year I look forward to the pre-award walk down the black carpet, with Bjarke and Rem and Wolf and Frank in their funky tuxes and slinky gowns.

Urbanization must experience a new renaissance and blur the boundary between city and nature. I vote for HERMANN KAUFMANN.He is a pioneer and master of working with WOOD.

As long as Aravena is the chair, it will be a Neo-Brutalist left-leaning non-American team.

There's a long list of Americans doing good design, from Canada to Middle America to Mexico that get little press attention. The kind of modernism that people actually like.

@natematt good call. Though if it's the one I really have PTSD from I'm going to have to go with Waterford crystal.

Last year I threw in for Smiljan over Chipperfield like a dummy. I still think Smiljan deserves one, but they'll probably try to go for a non-European/American wild card this year.

I've just started paying attention to Vector Architects/Dong Gong recently, super interesting stuff. So I will throw in for them over Thomas Phifer... which probably means congrats Mr Phifer.

After. Since Saturday morning. Very sad, as he was such a youthful and active person to the end. I think he should have a Pritzker for being himself and passionate about architecture. Pritzker shouldn't be about people "Look ma I became a superstar." Predock was a very inspiring person to his students. I came to like his work slowly.

I am in the same camp as you. I heard him lecture at an AIA conference one year as a totally oblivious student and will never forget how inspired I left that room. It was not even just the architecture (several of his works I do not resonate with) but just the zest for life and being intentional about a life worth living to me were crazy to imagine. No doubt he is up there ripping on his bike somewhere.

Predock was awesome; visiting more of his work is always on the list. He flew under the radar even though the work is nuanced, layered, and imbibed with meaning.
