I’m into black tea too. Something about that grassy matcha makes me so happy

Yerba, mate. Thank you.

Mate cocido when I'm in the office and don't want to look like I'm drinking the bong water. Otherwise, it's good enough for #10 and #44 ... good enough for me.

trump has more chances at winning his legal cases than this. Coffee (black) is unbeatable.

No, fill this under dead horses who require unnecessary

Tea is great, when you want to relax or sleep. Coffee is for when you want to enjoy life and get shit done!

I bought my wife some tea for xmas and it had gummy-bears in it.  Cute... but it ain't no match to my single-serve creuset French-press coffee.

I need to start my day with about 4 cups of coffee, but then after lunch I actually prefer to drink tea.

I start my day with espressos but drink green tea two times a day to keep calm.

I got a new milk frother. Espresso made on the stove top with dense froth. Sometimes with some cocoa added in.

I appreciate a nice cup of tea, herbal tea or variations, but generally prefer coffee--a few cups black in the morning; sometimes with sugar and milk, and occasionally a splash of Jameson's in the afternoon.

Shameless plug: my wife makes herbal teas as part of her herbal products business. We rarely have any on hand because they taste good and sell out quickly. She just made a big batch yesterday. https://www.ridgepondherbals.c...

Tea in my coffee cup with some coffee residu stuck to the sides and a little froth left on the bottom, best of both worlds(!)

I remember reading many years ago that one of the Chinese "schools" of tea mastery would only use unglazed pots and would never empty out the old leaves until ready to make another pot, so that the inside of the pot would build up a proper "base". There were supposedly treasured heirloom teapots that hadn't been washed for hundreds of years.

tduds,

I belong to a geeky organization that sometimes has campout events as long as about 3 weeks, and we have done the endless stewpot for the whole 3 weeks.

Some of us survived the horrific Sanka/Postum wars of the '80s.  I can't go through that again.

on this we agree though matcha is less favorite than the crisp metallic sweetness of good black tea.

i do sometimes drink coffee, and always wonder why i suffer with the bitterness and upset stomach all for a caffeine hangover a few hours later.

Matcha contains an amino acid that slowly releases the caffeine...gives a longer milder energy

Twinings Earl Grey, no milk.

Once gave a placement student tea and coffee in the same drink because they couldn’t decide.

I'm also a Twining's Earl Gray fan, but I drink it in a way that would shock any true Englishman - with cream, not milk, cream.

We Yanks have no respect for other cultures.

We barely have a culture of our own, and what little we do have is made of other people's trash.

Double or single cream? Or that creamer stuff? I’ve no idea what you have available haha. Might have to try!

What's wrong with putting cream in your tea? Cream is the fancy stuff that floats on top of the milk, a delicacy!

Jaetten,

Another bit of Yank anthropology - when we say "cream" we usually mean half & half, which is actually 1/2 whole milk & 1/2 heavy cream, very few of us actually put light or heavy cream in our coffee or tea. In fact, what you'd call single or double cream is mostly sold here as "Heavy Whipping Cream" and "Light Whipping Cream", since making whipped cream is mostly what we use it for.
