I had the great pleasure of collaborating with Parts+Labor--although the project never got built.  I still follow them and love their work.  Their attention to detail and curated interior design is quite good.

I'm rather fond of a lot of Olson Kundig's work.

Yes, I was trying to think of them, but couldn't remember the name.

Any firm that doesn't use gabled roofs in "unique" applications with "impressive" materials. That's definitely not a tired, cliche formula for small scale award entries... In all seriousness I'd second Olson Kundig, but maybe I'm biased since that's the realistic option of my two dream firms.

Current favourite is a small firm, underrated in my opinion, Bureau LADA: https://ladahrsak.com/

I don't get too excited about famous architects, but a few residential architects I admire:

https://www.bluetimecollaborat... (has become a personal friend, mentor and collaborator)

Rural Urban Framework. Duo working working mostly with charities to build in rural villages in China. They build infinitely more interesting work than anything else coming out of the region.

Wood Guy,

check this out...

That firm does some of the nicest houses in Europe, in my opinion.

Agree about Omar Ghandi.

Very nice! My friend Bob (BlueTimeCollaborative) coined the term, "carpenter modern" to describe his style, and I have adopted it as my favorite as well. I'd say this fits that description.

Not sure if that's a thumbs up or thumbs down. Sorry though. They seem like the kind of place that might be hard to cold apply to.

They were one of the few firms I ever applied to that I would have been really excited to work for, and said so in my cover letter, so I was a little sad that I wasn't what they were looking for at the time, but I don't hold it against them (much). If, for some odd reason, they were to dig up my resume from 10 years ago and approach me now, I don't think they could afford me, so it's water under the bridge.
