Snip of a piece of the existing cable you're replacing and take it down to BassPro. Find the one that most closely matches.

Sounds like a terrible idea.  But, I would go for braid and not monofilament.  If it's going to work, it's that way.  Mono stretches.

This is what is listed on Mayline's page, though the helpful link to find a dealer is broken. Just search for a nylon coated cable with an OD of 0.035" ... 7x7 cable if you want to match what they show in the image.

Here's where you can get 250 ft of it (0.034" OD). Start selling it to all your architect and engineer friends with Maylines on the side.

Just by coincidence, I went fishing with my Mayline last weekend.  Tough to bring in anything heavier than 5 lbs.

Now who'd forget that critical piece of tackle? Great for gutting!

You need one of the old pre-ADA Maylines from before the 5-lb limit.
