Hi Everyone, Reading some disturbing things about the buildings on Epstein’s island. What do you all think, as architects? Who has the drawings available for the public to see?
Kidding aside, jla, this seems very unethical. Do you all think architects should even work on buildings like this? Who decides when a client/building might be dangerous?

Every professional maintains his or her own code of ethics, as an overlay to state mandated ones. At the time of construction, I'm assuming, Epstein was either "cleared" by serving his bogus jail time in South Florida or there were no credible stains on his reputation. There's no problem here. If a client has money and wants to build a fake temple, then so be it. Difference between this and Zaha's Qatar stadium is that Zaha should have known from the get-go that her designs would be built with what amounts to modern-day slavery. Perhaps that was also the case for the Epstein compound, but no one knows at this juncture.
Now, if part of Epstein's design requirements was a dungeon/massage room for underage guests, then the architect has some ethics/criminal questions to answer...
