Post/pier foundation details

Bluthconstruction

Hi everyone,

I’m not an architect, so I apologize if this isn’t the right place to ask. Does anyone know of details for post/pier foundations built using steel?

I’m looking for information on systems similar to Tom Kundigs rolling huts, minus the rolling. Or like his Delta shelter.

Concrete sonotube with steel column & base anchor.  This needs to be engineered.

Thanks. I’m too old to get a second degree. I figured trying to figure out how things are put together was the next best thing

Yeah, the pic you show has concrete foundations and steel attached.

Helical piers are the exciting new version. Check out Techno Metal Post or similar. Also needs to be engineered. The problem with any pier-based building system is lateral stability.

For lateral stability, you can enlarge the diameter of your piles and /or use cross brassing
