I'm a student. We received this project where an existing building has poor foundation. We are tasked to design a new building that'll sit snug against the existing. The new building will have a basement that'll basically sit next to the old foundation, a retaining wall. The new building will have multiple stories. The first floor of the new building and the ground floor of the existing will join. The existing building needs underpinning.Which type should I use that'll be successful next to the wall of the new building.
let me see that soils report - underpinning is all about the process (means and methods), which could require soil stabilization. depending on that I can give you an opinion.
Which Underpinning?

With existing building, limited space, my goto is a micropile. I like it much better than helical piers.
