Just wondering what style of house this would be considered, I can't find any notes on this kind of look. I really love the high side wall where it comes to a flat part at the top. I'm guessing it was built around 1800-1830. Any shots at the answer would be great, thanks for the help and sorry about the quality of photo.
It is highly likely that in the past there was an adjoining property. Just look at old montreal or quebec city and you'll see plenty of examples where one half burned but the other stayed up.

The house looks like an Adams or Federal style. The porch, however, is Second Empire style and was almost certainly added later.
Canadian Gothic, eh? Sounds aboot right.
