I have been searching for a Salvage Yard for contemporary building materials but could only find those specialising in antique pieces. Is there such a thing around London?
I believe it was in one of the Grand Design Australia episodes, where I made a mental note of this: The owner used some windows that he explained were left over from bigger office or residential construction sites, where a few more than needed would be ordered to be on the safe side. He went to a salvage yard where he was able to find windows close to his planned dimensions. It seems a great idea to use such windows - or lots of other elements - in smaller residential conversions. Would be greatful for any suggestions.
