Looking for some precedents here, examples of well designed mixed-use arts commission gallery / low-income housing space. This would not be live/work lofts for artists, per se, but rather combining two separate communities (arts and homeless) into a shared space. The communities might exist in separate spaces, but hopefully, the mixed use will integrate the two towards a cooperative space of some kind. Think an artist's gallery space for a supportive housing project, or supportive housing loft space, where artists and homeless people may collaborate. Or, simply, where artists get gallery space and homeless people get housing, together.
Anyway, do you know of any interesting projects I can check out?
