I've managed to take on enough projects not to think about much. When I do think, then it gets ugly, and I need a drink.
Running/biking is the best stress relief I've found, but hard to do when you're too busy (and then you get more stressed, of course).
Killah Martini - a double if its been an awful day.
Recipe scaled down by half for a single or use a double jigger for 2 parts:
Fill glasses with full with ice, slowly add water to chill the heck out of the glasses.
Per drink:
6 parts finlandia or grey goose
1 part lillet (white french wine - not widely availiable instead of dastardly vermouth)
(shake like h+ll with ice)
pour into a great artistic glass - my fav is a cut crystal palm tree in hand blown crystal
then gently pour in one part sapphire gin (stored frozen and only released from captivity for this occassion) - stir gently.
happy fat spanish olives with pimentos (trader joe colossals) - a touch of brine - I like mine slightly 'dirty.'
That is MEDICINE, no doubt about it. It will cure all things that p+ss off a day that started out sunny.
There is a Bond one - 'James Bond' - that is almost the same except it is Gordons' gin, instead of vodka. Very continental or NE.
Remember - Stirred, not shaken. Shaking bruises the gin. Also a gin martini is fabulous with Indian cuisine. It made me understand the British idea of "empire."
However, do not do these recipes and attempt to operate a mechanical device - aka automobile. It is an activity done by professionals.
Best wine is a zweigelt (served with pepper roasted lamb.) Lailey Vineyards - Niagara Ontario CA ($10 US/12 loonies a bottle). Can't get it in the states. Similar available from Austria blended with a pinot grape.
It makes me look forward to an awful day. Hey, NORM, where did you get those schrooms? Seen any buttons lately?
