does anyone have a good source for industrial felt...and/or
felt made from recycled material?...i'm looking for 1/2"-3/4"
thick pieces that can be cut with a press or the like....
also does anyone have places i could look for recycled material resources...i know there was a topic before...specifically looking for recycled packaging and the like.
I was at the new feminism gallery (and the dinner party installation) at the BK museum today and there was a ton of industrial felt used as curtains and dense black foam used on walls and furniture in video galleries.
I'm wondering where I could buy the stuff in new york city. I really dug the foam stools and I'm kind of keen to make some furniture for my house in the stuff. If anyone else knows where to go for this stuff, I'd really appreciate it.

try http://www.thefeltpeople.com/
nice color choices and they will send you samples. the only drawback is that they have a large 70-something feet minimum order.
and remember- the Yahoo search engine will answer anything.
