To expand its presence in San Francisco, Forbes Media turned to Huntsman to design a space that maintains an aesthetic consistency with the company’s New York and New Jersey offices, yet captures the essence of the San Francisco workplace culture. The design team’s response remains authentic to the Forbes brand - influenced by hospitality and tailored amenities - while at the same time conveying comfort and approachability for employees and guests.

The elevator lobby features full-height mirrors "framed" with modern linear etches - a design element repeated throughout key spaces. The lobby is branded with quotes from thinkers and innovators who influence the pages of Forbes, a nod to the quote of the day on the company's website. The elevator lobby opens directly to an all-hands meeting area with sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay. An unconventional entrance to an office, this flexible room can easily accommodate meetings, large events, or other functions. Casual seating arrangements flank the entry doors, and a statement light fixture serves as a focal point without competing with the views. Adjacent to the entrance, a café provides an ideal setting for touch-down work or smaller gatherings. Polished concrete floors, wood slat ceilings, and modern furniture complete the daylit space. Comfortable banquettes along the window line, double as a recording/interview area.

In the open work areas, perimeter workstations provide access to daylight, while custom bookcases, accented with matching framing from the entrance, elegantly display the Forbes magazine collection. Interior conference rooms allow for impromptu collaboration. The completed office is an active and engaging workplace and an inspiring West Coast outpost for the Forbes brand.
