This was a private contest convened by Amarey NovaMedical S.A. and Pinilla González & Prieto for the expansion of the Amarey NovaMedical S.A. headquarters.
In this project, Entorno AID proposed that the daily events open towards the city integrating the plaza, the street and the park. The combination of these elements permits us to talk about an object that gives a continuity of the eastern hills of Bogotá with the interior of the project, making the Amarey NovaMedical building a referential point because of its innovative way of combining nature with technology and elegance. We propose a comfortable connection with the city where the green of nature will prevail at all times, bands leading the pedestrian towards the building, connecting the fluxes that come from the Autopista Norte with Avenida NQS, generating casual encounters, table discussions, teaching spaces, giving pace to the Calle del Saber (Street of knowledge). The new image that this project proposes to change is the actual thick and robust building lot, with one that looks more like a light membrane, of green tonalities that some trees acquire with the pass of time. This framework can find direct references with the eastern hills of Bogotá, a messy framework that leaves out the notion of a “building” for offices and converts it better into an element of the landscape. Likewise, the basing of the new building will like to blend with the new public space. Earthy colors that make the trunks of the trees dialogue with the new befall. The building becomes city landmark by the symbiosis of the outer skin and the surrounding landscape.
It is expected that the building becomes an example of sustainable and integrated design, which permits to develop the highest performance with the least quantity of energetic resources. The existing building is recycled and adapted to the new educative use connecting by means of bridges only where there are offices and administrative points, separating the educational public fluxes. Long plants are articulated by the fixed point and the service area. We want multifunctional areas inside the offices, that they will become visually communicated and climatically enriched by the room temperature that permits not only a considerable amount of energy by not depending on the AC, but to take the maximum advantage of daylight on all sides, which will filtrate the UV lights thanks to its double wrapping skin.
