The NYU Leadership Initiative is a rapidly expanding program that assists graduate and undergraduate students develop the skills they need to become the leaders of tomorrow. The Leadership Initiative encompasses three programs: Leadership Development, Global Awards, and the Reynolds Program for Social Entrepreneurship. The new home for the Leadership Initiative is located in the heart of NYU's Greenwich Village urban campus on Washington Place. This space provides visibility for the program and invites passersby to pause and learn more. MAD was brought on board to help develop center that would feel open and accessible - promoting the message of inclusiveness and teamwork. The space provides a collaborative working environment for the full time staff and student workers, three meeting rooms of various sizes, and an area in the front for holding larger seminars, lectures, and events. The materials selected aim to foster a "startup culture" attitude by providing a white box design with simple concrete floors and modern linear LED light fixtures balanced by warming elements such as the bamboo cladding and color accents.
