The Gasan Maker Space

Makerspace refers to a space where models created and conceived freely can be actually created using various materials or digital technology-based machines. In other words, it is a creative activity space using digital technology and tools. Starting with "Hackerspace," which started in Germany, the concept of Makerspace has spread around the world. Makerspace has reached out to production activities beyond creative and production activities, and these social activities have caused a boom in numerous startup companies. Currently, Korea is also carrying out support projects for startups and start-ups in various ways, and MakerSpace is one of them. If children who have learned how to organize and produce their own things through Maker Space grow up learning how to use their own unique ideas, they will be excellent members of society who revitalize various social fields in the future.

Elementary school students seem to learn more senses with their bodies rather than constantly sitting at their desks and concentrating. In order to stimulate such physical activity, it is designed to physically experience space. angsangmadang, a two-story space where you can go up and down the stairs, and a Ttiat Tunnel, which can go in and out like a cave, was prepared at the bottom of the two-story space. As it is a maker space, there is a window-side personal work space where you can work in the warm sunlight, a stage space where you can proudly present your works in front of teachers and friends, and Sangsangnarae, a window-side exhibition space. For desks, hexagonal desks were also used to arrange desks in various ways not only when doing group activities but also when doing personal work. This maker space becomes a space that can improve both children's creativity and physical ability.

The back wall of Sangsangmadang, a two-story space where you can go up and down stairs, consists of a blackboard, not a typical plain wall. The bottom of the blackboard is flat, so you can sit down. In this space, which is a blackboard and bench, children can sit and rest and chat with friends. It is also a space where you can write down your thoughts on the blackboard and share them with your friends. The wall between Sangsang Madang and Makerspace, a children's classroom space, eased the frustration by drilling a hole. The pierced wall was highlighted with a translucent color sheet with color. A soft curve was added to the wall, which could be huge and monotonous, so that you can feel a sense of unity with the blackboard and window walls.
