Makerspace refers to a space where models created and conceived freely can be actually created using various materials or digital technology-based machines. In other words, it is a creative activity space using digital technology and tools. Starting with "Hackerspace," which started in Germany, the concept of Makerspace has spread around the world. Makerspace has reached out to production activities beyond creative and production activities, and these social activities have caused a boom in numerous startup companies. Currently, Korea is also carrying out support projects for startups and start-ups in various ways, and MakerSpace is one of them. If children who have learned how to organize and produce their own things through Maker Space grow up learning how to use their own unique ideas, they will be excellent members of society who revitalize various social fields in the future.
Makerspace allows you to have creative experiences other than the class content you learn at school. In the classroom where a table of six people is arranged, creation of robots is made by themselves. At the robot stadium, you can compete with your friends with the robot I made. The robot stadium, like a school playground stand, was constructed with a raised floor height and curved so that you could sit around with your friends and talk or watch the game. Curved wood strips become ceilings and sometimes walls, shelves, tables for study, and benches. In the bar table of Makerspace, the surface of the curve from the ceiling becomes the table. The bench in the hallway also becomes a bench with the curved surface from the ceiling floating on the floor. This form breaks the stereotype that tables and benches should only be placed on the floor. I hope it will be a maker space that can stimulate children's creativity.
