The Historic renovation of the Abbey is key to the brand experience of these apartments. The developer wanted to create a new approach to an urban infill development of rental housing in Minneapolis. The new apartment building was connected to a historic 19th Century mansion that has been fully restored by the design team to its new 21st century glory!

The older mansion holds the amenities for the newer apartment building. This creates a rich canvas for gathering, work from home, fitness and entertainment. “The design team embraced the task of finding the new life in this historic skin,” said Betsy Vohs, Studio BV Founder and CEO.  “The design team restored and enhanced the historic elements like original stairs and fireplaces and married them with new custom millwork, color, lighting, textiles and details. Balance and integrity were part of the design teams goals.” The interior supports a modern lifestyle but celebrate the richness of the past. The amenities include outdoors spaces, its connection to the city park that lies next to the development and modern details in the unit designs.
