A narrow brownstone in Cobble Hill, the goal was to make the home more client-centric by erasing the long ignored finishes and configurations of both the house and basement apartment. The scope included shuffling the entire house layout to accommodate new baths, kitchens, and a completely new basement apartment. In addition, and because of the narrow lot, a 3-story rear extension and deck is added. The design intent was to open the parlor floor as much as possible to the rear yard southern exposure. The addition is a speckled white brick with black steel accents. Steel windows and custom millwork are used throughout the project to give the house a warm and contemporary vibe.
