The Jerry Falwell Library at Liberty University expected an increase in the student population; therefore, Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo aided in this project by installing terrazzo floors. Terrazzo floors have a durable surface, which are built to last as it is a perfect flooring choice in areas where high-foot traffic is common. One of the goals of this project was to make the building more than just a library, but a center for student activity. Students can engage in public gathering areas, study rooms or media centers. It is all part of the initiative to improve student performance at the higher education level. Not to mention its a great place for students to read. Advancements in robotics have allowed the library to retrieve books in the its wide database. As for the terrazzo flooring, over 5,897 square feet of 3/8" epoxy terrazzo was added throughout the Jerry Falwell Library. Stair tread and risers combine the the library to a dining area where students can devour food and drinks from their favorite restaurants like Starbucks and Domino's Pizza. Doyle Dickerson Terrazzo not only installed terrazzo for this project, but included over 27,746 of stone installation, from the flooring to staircases to counter tops.
