The company Herzog & De Meuron called upon 100 architects from 29 countries, including us. The ar­chitect and artist Ai Wei Wei and his workshop Fake Design created the master plan of this 100 villa development plan in Ordos, Mongolia. We an­swered to this request fully motivated, creating a project which clearly affirms the idea of property of the land in a massive and exclusive construction style alluding to the concept of the traditional villa. Transforming the building into a monolith with a continuous surface of bricks and rectangular con­cave bays we created an elliptic unity of form, mate­rial and facade which houses everything in its interior, staying faithful to the style of the antique italian villas of Palladio or Ledoux.
