The project was conceived as a collection of abstracted boulders with various level changes. The project location is adjacent to the Palm Springs Visitor Center in Palm Springs, California.
The purpose was to provide live/ work units for visiting artists in residence, as well as a group space for presentations. Over time, I adjusted the program to include a stage for concert venues; as Art is also something to listen to.
The Living Units have their backs turned against the harsh sun of the region. The opposite side is opened up to take advantage of the sunsets.
