The CHAIR FOR A CHAIR project was a re-adaptation of an existing experiment. It begun with a design that already had the backing and the seat assembled. However, the legs were in discordance with the rest of the chair so the project continued without the existing backing and seat (those parts were eventually put to use in the CRAFTY PALLET project). The design issue consisted in creating an addition for the existing context. The approach was to juxtapose the top and bottom identities and simultaneously marry the two systems - the dynamic industrial feel of the legs to a warm sculptural character for the seat and backing.
